Celeration

A measure of how learning changes over time; specifically, the change in rate of a behaviour across days or weeks.

Celeration represents the change in rate over time. In precision teaching, you look at how speed and accuracy grow across multiple sessions rather than just how fast a learner performs today. A steep celeration line on a Standard Celeration Chart indicates rapid learning, whereas a flat line shows no change.

Tracking celeration lets you predict when a learner will reach mastery. It shifts the focus from static endpoints to dynamic growth, revealing whether your teaching intervention accelerates skill acquisition. Standardizing this measurement helps you make data-driven decisions before a learner stalls.
